The Castle Museum is a Victorian mansion built in 1892 by B.R. Sherman, an innovative man for his day, and ran by the Meagher County Historical Association. The hilltop landmark overlooking White Sulphur Springs is furnished with antiques and memorabilia from the area, and available via guided tours only. It also includes a carriage house via self-guided tour with an impressive collection of buggies and wagons. Special exhibits will be a new feature for the 2025 season, with the first being a special doll collection from around the world.
A slew of events are slated to take place for the summer, kicking off with a special member event on Saturday, May 31 with guest speakers replacing the usual tours for the day. Other planned events include story times on Sunday afternoons, a community read and speakers featuring F. Scott Fitzgerald, and returning in the fall after a very successful trial last year, The Dark Side of the Springs.
Admission is $10 for adults, $7.50 for seniors and military/veterans, $6 for children ages 5-17, and ages 4 and under are free. Pre-arranged group tours as well as educational group tours are available at a reduced rate. The grounds are also available to rent for private events.
