Ranch and Farm Wholesale Supply was originally founded in 1961 with Bob Simard, Harold Simard, Virgil Austreng and Oscar Knutson. Virgil and Oscar had previously operated a hardware and implement business in Sidney, Montana. Over the years, Bob and Harold bought out their two partners and in 1972, the business expanded when they purchased land in West Glendive and built a new store and warehouse. Later in the 70s, they added a new addition and attached another warehouse. In 1989 they joined ACE Hardware Corp expanding their offerings by aligning with a trusted national brand.
In 1993 Harold and Judy bought Bob’s share in the business. They also added a third addition to the store. Another expansion came in 2015 when Harold and Judy purchased the building next door which had previously been the “Hair Station” and prior to that was a “Phillips 66” gas station. That is now being used as a “Garden Center.”
Ranch and Farm Ace Hardware stands as a testament to decades of dedication, service, and community spirit, recognized for its longevity in the community and its comprehensive inventory.
