March 2024 once again brings Western Art Week to Great Falls, and the March in Montana show and sale is sure to be a main attraction. The 37th annual auction and dealer show will feature great collections from Montana, Florida, Chicago, Missouri, Washington, and Tucson which are sure to bring a large crowd once again.

Two Bohlin saddles along with an engraved Henry rifle and a Conrad Ulrich engraved 1866 Winchester rifle highlight the Western memorabilia part of the sale. Our Native American beadwork is off the charts as we feature many items from the 19th century, with a Crow Shirt owned by the chief White Bull sure to garner a great deal of attention.

Last year our collectors couldn’t get enough of our weavings so this year we have ramped it up with over eighty pieces. With large collections from Tucson and New Mexico, collectors have a wide variety of choices. Several large pieces will be jaw droppers when our live crowd takes a look.

If you’re a William Gollings fan, then we are the place to be. A super selection of his hard-to-find etchings as well as two great oils will surely be fan favorites. A wonderful oil by Olaf Seltzer will also leave the crowd at the historic Elks Club glad they came. Of course, we are known for the great oils and bronzes by Montana artists Ace Powell, Bob Scriver, and Earl Heikka.

We set the world record for the works of Glacier Park woodcarver John L. Clarke last year and this year, we will once again offer six works by him. Five of the wonderful pieces come from a collection in Massachusetts, most came direct from the Clarke family.

Over the last few years, we have been proud to offer a section of items dedicated to Native American artists past and present. This year we will have two sections, one on Friday and one on Saturday. The main attraction will be an oil by Jaune “Quick to See” Smith, several works by Assiniboine artist William Standing, works by Spokane Tribe artist George Flett, as well as Apache artist Allan Houser.
