Presented by Coeur d’ Alene Galleries and Coeur d’ Alene Art Auction

The 36th Annual March in Montana Auction & Dealer Show is shaping up to be an exciting one. Featuring fine Western and historic art, sculpture, contemporary art, and Cowboy & Indian collectibles, “March in Montana” takes place at Charlie’s very own Elks Lodge in downtown Great Falls and draws dealers and buyers from around the world.

The highlight of this year’s show is sure to be the collection of Native American items. Many great pieces from the late 1800s will grab collectors’ attention. March in Montana has always set a high bar for weavings, and this year, they’ve raised that bar. The sale features several “Montana Lodge” sized pieces that collectors and designers normally don’t have an opportunity to see and purchase. These items are best viewed in person. You have to come and check these out!

Selling the finest quality of Winchesters is getting to be habit at the sale. This year, March in Montana is offering an 1866 engraved rifle. The engraving is done by famed engraver Louis Daniel Nimshke and is in great condition. There’s also an 1894 hard to find Trapper that is sure to make collectors drool. Among this year’s selection of paintings and bronzes are excellent pieces by some of the best Native artists in Montana’s history. March in Montana will be featuring a large Assiniboine Gros Ventre War Shirt collection of William Standing’s work, as well as other artists from that period, whose impressive work helped pave the way for the Native artists of today.

March in Montana is also proud of the sporting art that will be presented. A large fishing scene by Brett Smith will lead a great bunch of hunting and fishing scenes. The sale also includes a rare Native wicker fly rod holder that sporting collectors will want to take a look at.

Five rare woodcarvings by Montana’s most iconic carver, John L. Clarke, will be a fan favorite for sure!
