We’ve all heard the tagline: “Love. It’s what makes a Subaru, a Subaru.”
It’s tender. It’s catchy. But also, it’s real.
“Subaru is more than an auto manufacturer. They’re not just providing a car; they’re supporting a customer’s lifestyle,” says Mark McCarthy, General Manager of Lithia Subaru of Great Falls. “They don’t pretend to care; they care.”
Subaru believes in making our world a better place, and the Subaru Love Promise represents the company’s commitment to love and respect its customers and to make a positive impact on the world around them.
Since 2005, Subaru has donated more than 277,000 books to schools across the country through the company’s annual Subaru Loves Learning event. This is done with assistance from the American Association for the Advancement of Science, a non-profit that selects the books it feels will be the greatest benefit to students.
“It’s all about making learning as accessible as possible,”
says McCarthy.
Since 2017, Subaru of Great Falls has donated 150 science books and $2,000 in school supplies to Sunnyside Elementary School. In 2020, Subaru of Great Falls will donate another 50 books and $1,500 in school supplies.
New this year, Lithia Subaru of Great Falls will work to promote school attendance. Every Sunnyside Elementary student that completes a full quarter with perfect attendance will receive a Subaru backpack stuffed with school supplies and some cool Subaru gear.
“We want to encourage and reward students,” says McCarthy. “There is a famous quote that goes something like ‘eighty percent of success is showing up,’ and we want to recognize those special students that always show up. Our future depends on having more people show up.”
Education also goes hand-in-hand with fighting the current pandemic. With COVID-19 on the rise in Montana, Lithia Subaru of Great Falls has developed new business practices to safely and conveniently serve its customers. Notably, through its Door to Door Service, the company will pick up your vehicle (any make or model) at your work or at your home within a 20-mile radius of the dealership. They’ll perform the necessary service and return it to you at no additional charge. Lithia Subaru of Great Falls will even provide you with a new Subaru as a “loaner car.” You can just drop off yours and take theirs!
“These are things we came up with to help people get their car serviced and still keep a safe distance,” says McCarthy. With a laugh, he adds, “It’s really catching on, so please call ahead!”
Contributions to Great Falls’ health and education are just a few of the ways that Subaru of Great Falls shows love for its community.
And as we all know, love is what makes a Subaru, a Subaru.
