The Wild Bunch Art Show is a celebrated annual event held during Western Art Week in Great Falls. Established in 2010, the show has become a cornerstone for art enthusiasts and collectors, offering a diverse array of artworks that capture the essence of Western culture.
Attendees can look forward to a relaxed and inviting atmosphere where artists are present to discuss their inspirations and creative processes.
The event has been lauded as “The Best Show in Town” by many visitors, highlighting its charm and the quality of art on display. With only twelve booths and fourteen artists, the more intimate setting gives artists and clients more of an opportunity to learn about each other. The show has just a good ole’ fashioned Montana feel, and its’ artists intend to keep things that way.
The Wild Bunch Art Show was conceived in response to the conclusion of the original C.M. Russell Art Show in 2009. Artist Nadine Pickthorn, facing the absence of a platform during Western Art Week, initiated the show to continue the tradition of showcasing exceptional Western art. This year the show is being run by couple Janet and Jim Buti, who will be in the show as well, and no doubt are still enlisting the expertise of Nadine. With a mission to have the show be successful for years to come, Janet shared that the artists in the show are all close, and this show is just as meaningful to them as it is to patrons.
While the smaller venue has its benefits, over the past few years, a more “standard route” has been established by Art Week goers, and traveling out of circuit has become less common. Even though the show has its returning patrons each year, Janet and Jim are looking forward to seeing new faces in March. They encourage anyone to stop by to meet the artists and grab a homemade cookie, while emphasizing their appreciation for anyone who travels outside the “normal route” to see them.
