Every chapter of Walleyes Unlimited offers unique contributions to sportsmen activities in Montana. According to Walleyes Unlimited member Sandy Maczka, the Glasgow/Fort Peck Chapter’s contributions are a balance of charity, education, and fun.

“We do a lot for our community and help out different areas of northeast Montana,” says Maczka. “We donated to the Fort Peck Marina and Duck Creek fish cleaning stations. Working alongside of FWP and the Corp of Engineers, we put a boat ramp and a courtesy dock at the Duck Creek access site. Along with the Hi-Line Sportsmen Group and our Glasgow Chamber, we have purchased courtesy docks for the Pine Recreation area, Nelson Reservoir, and the Fort Peck Marina. We are involved with youth fishing and Wounded Warrior projects. We have donated to the Warriors on the Water and the St. Mary’s Project also. Our chapter sponsors the Women’s Fishing Tournament on Fort Peck Lake, the biggest women’s tourney in the state.”

In addition to all of these contributions, the Glasgow/Fort Peck Chapter of Walleyes Unlimited helps sponsor a number of tournaments throughout the year, including several for young fishermen. The Governor’s Cup and the Women’s Fishing Tournament are just a few of the major fishing competitions that the chapter helps fund.

The majority of the chapter’s funding for these tournaments and projects is raised at its annual banquet. The 2020 banquet will be held in conjunction with the Walleyes Unlimited state meeting and banquet at the Valley Event Center on April 4. It will also include a Spring Craft Bazaar 9am-2:30pm, with vendors from across the state displaying and selling their products.
